Senior Gabriela Vargas and Lead Engineering Teacher Ken Davis were featured in a recent News 10 story about the need to generate more diversity in Engineering and Science related fields.
Gaby and Mr. Davis spoke about the work they and the school are doing to increase the number of women and minority in STEM.
The School of Engineering and Sciences is a public, career themed 7th – 12th grade school without any entrance criteria or requirements.
To enroll your student with us in any grade level, please follow the SCUSD Enrollment Process. For 7th and 8th grade students, this process is referred to as Open Enrollment. For 9th – 12th grade students, this process is referred to as the High School Specialty Programs application.
The School of Engineering and Sciences is a 7th through 12th grade school. Because of this structure, middle school students at SES seamlessly transition from 8th grade into high school already knowing the campus, teachers, and their classmates. They begin their high school years ready to learn on the first day.
The After School Education and Safety (ASES) Program provides
students with a safe physical and emotional environment, as well as opportunities for relationship building, and learning support activities. ASES offers an array of services that reinforce and complement the school’s academic goals. These services consist of tutoring and/or homework assistance, enrichment clubs, sports and health and wellness activities.
The School of Engineering and Sciences provides open access to a rigorous academic and technical course sequence. We insist on high levels of learning for all students with the ultimate goal of increasing the diversity of the science and engineering workforce living and working in Sacramento.
