8th Grade Parents: The planning is underway for two special
events. Please fill out and return the attached pdf no later than
February 12, 2012.
The 8th Grade BBQ/swim party and promotion ceremony events are
not sponsored by the school. However, our PTSA and parents
have made great strides these last four years in providing a BBQ
(lunch) swim party and 8th grade promotion ceremony with
invitations, refreshments, decorations for our 8th graders and
families.
We need your help planning 2 special events for your 8th Grade
student, the Ceremony and Promotion Party.
Parents, please take a minute to fill out the flier and return to
school office.
The deadline to be on the organizing committee is Dec. 9th.
Parents will meet once a month, and more when it gets closer to
the end of the school year. Students are welcome to attend.
On Saturday, November 19th, our two FIRST Lego League teams
competed at Sam Brannan in qualifying matches. Both teams did
very well.
Team One received an award for the best robot design and scored
well enough in both their presentation and robot functionality to
move on to the second round of competitions to be held in Folsom,
California.
It is almost that time again for the SES Summer Reading Program!
Please download the word documents that pertain to your
student...either Middle School or High School and please make
sure they pick their books from the correct reading list (for the
grade level they will be next year!)
Current students will be learning more about the Required Summer
Reading Program in their English classes.
Incoming studnets can get all of the information here on the
website.
Please ask your English teachers if you have questions or contact
Ms.
If you would like to PAY for your child to attend summer school
in the Aventa Online Learning Program - please see the attached
flyer and contact Aventa DIRECTLY - not through SES.
All 7th & 8th grade students are required to read a book of
their choice and complete book report by the assigned dates,
listed on the cover sheet of the template. If there any questions
, please email Mrs. Brown at Cheryl-brown@sac-city.k12.ca.us
Please join us in celebrating the hard work of our 7th - 9th
graders on their Human Body System projects! Students will
need to dress professionally (no jeans!) for
their presentations (nice shirts and slacks/skirts)
Presenting at Science Night will be a large portion of
their grade in their science classes. It is
important that they are there to present their projects with
their groups and that there is a family member (or neighbor or
friend) there to celebrate their accomplishment!
We are kicking off our Science Fair Project in the 7th-9th grade
science classes!
Please look at the timeline for when assignments and tasks are
due. The Science Fair Project Planning Guide will also help
answer the questions you may have!
SES is firmly committed to providing a book for each student. As a small school, we must manage our budget carefully and cannot afford to replace lost and damaged books.
Students will be held responsible for damages to or loss of books due to theft, loss or negligence. We will not charge for use of books or normal wear and tear. For damage, partial fees may be assessed.
