8th Grade Parents: The planning is underway for two special
events. Please fill out and return the attached pdf no later than
February 12, 2012.
The 8th Grade BBQ/swim party and promotion ceremony events are
not sponsored by the school. However, our PTSA and parents
have made great strides these last four years in providing a BBQ
(lunch) swim party and 8th grade promotion ceremony with
invitations, refreshments, decorations for our 8th graders and
families.
For those families looking to enroll their 7-12 grade student at
The School of Engineering and Sciences, please complete the
online
application during the Open Enrollment period period, January
30th - February 10th (tentative dates).
On Saturday, November 19th, our two FIRST Lego League teams
competed at Sam Brannan in qualifying matches. Both teams did
very well.
Team One received an award for the best robot design and scored
well enough in both their presentation and robot functionality to
move on to the second round of competitions to be held in Folsom,
California.
Very important information regarding the SES Senior project.
Seniors, please take the time to familiarize yourself with the
Senior Project Handbook and Timeline. Don't be caught off guard!
Many of our parents are enjoying communications with SES via
email. It makes everyone's lives easier and more productive.
However, some of our parents have not shared their email
addresses with us and then we have to make phone calls or send
regular mail.
In a push to keep everyone informed in a timely manner, we are
asking you to help us by providing your email here. It only takes
a minute and it will save the school valuable time and money. If
you are already receiving emails, then we obviously have yours
and you can disregard all this.
Effective October 4th we will be notifying
students that they will be unable to report to school on October
6th if they do not show proof of the TDAP
immunization. If your child has completed and turned in this
information please contact our front office at 916-433-2960 x
1030.
Zangle ParentConnection is a web-based application you can

secured access to a wide array of information, including
district, school, and classroom news; student demographics;
student schedules; attendance activity; class assignments; report
forms & progress reports; transcripts; standardized testing
results; and e-mail links to teachers, counselors, and school
administrators. It is a very powerful tool to help you keep track
of your student's progress here at SES.
Hello All 7th and 9th grade students and parents. It's almost
time to gear up for upcoming school year. To help in this
important transition from grade school to middle and middle to
high school, we have prepared an orientation that will help you
start the year right. Please take a moment to download and fill
out the 7th/9th Grade Orientation document. It is in the PDF
format and includes the ability to fill it out on your computer.
You can also print it and fill it out the old-fashioned way.
Thanks for your quick response and we look forward to seeing you
at orientation!
On June 27, 2011, parents of 7th - 11th grade SES students were
invited to vote on a proposal to modify the school's dress code.
Any modifications to the dress code must be approved by a 60%
majority in order to be implemented. The enrollment of these
grade levels at the time of the voting was 314 students. The
required number of votes to reach the 60% target is 188. The
number of votes we received in favor of revising the dress code
was just 47. This is far short of the 60% required to make the
proposed changes, therefore the dress code will remain the same
this school year.
