Sacramento State University would like to invite you and your
students to their 18th annual "College: Making It Happen!"
college information day scheduled for Saturday, March 17,2012.
This program, intended primarily for 6th through 10th grade
students and their parents, is designed to convey the importance
of early academic preparation and to inform families that a
college education is still both affordable and attainable. The
program is free and and open to the public.

CollegeWeekLive Event Returns
High school students, parents, and guidance counselors are
invited to attend the free online college fair called
CollegeWeekLive SPRING that features more than 300 colleges and
universities from across the country and world. People can take
virtual tours of campuses, see live video presentations from
admissions experts, and hear about college life from current
students. The event on March 23-24, 2011, also has presentations
from the U.S.
The deadline for students to apply for the ExxonMobil Bernard
Harris Math and Science Scholarships is April 1.
Four scholarships for two males and two females -- $5,000 each --
will be awarded to two African American and two Hispanic students
on behalf of the former NASA astronaut, physician and
businessman, Dr. Bernard Harris, the first African American to
walk in space.
This is a special invitation for California high school juniors
and seniors who have disabilities that are interested in applying
to attend the California Youth Leadership Forum for Students with
Disabilities (YLF) July 24-28, 2011 in Sacramento. Students will
have the opportunity to live on a college campus and join more
than 900 alumni from across the state that have been a part of
this unique program created specifically for young leaders with
disabilities.
At no cost for the junior and senior students attending a high
school in California!

Children's Services, Financial Assistance, Health Care Services
and more!

Meetings are held at the Serna Center the last Monday of each
month from 11:30-12:30 and lunch is provided! The dates are 1/31,

Attached is a reminder and flyer for the Parent/Student
Orientation Meeting for the Summer Tour of 10 Historically Black
Colleges & Universities. This will be held at Valley High
School this Thursday, OCT 28 from 7:00 to 8:00 pm.
Parents and students should attend to learn more about the tour
and how to finance the trip.
